We were learning to swim it was very easy because knew most of the stuff that we learnt to glide which was the easiest.

My reflection 

I was learning to ride a bike safelyand know how to muke sure my bike is safe to ride 

Determaning credabilaty

My reflection I was learning find clues in the site. I had to find lots of things in the site and i had to figure  out which site i could trust more.  It was hard because I had to do most of the work by my self.  It was very hard to find the things that I was looking for.  My next step when I am researching I have to look out for what the better sites are or which sites are not so good.

Mark and the race crew

My reflection I was learning to write a fairy tale. It was hard because I had to do it over and over again because it was not a fairy tale and it needed to be worked on.  Instead of just having a boring story I had to put in a character that didn't exist like a wizard.  I had to put in a fairy tale start like "Once upon a time".  My next step is to get it done on my first go.

Term 4 Week 6

On the weekend I played cricket we won I got 17 I  was captain  and i got one wicket i retired  for runs early to give other people a turn at batting then we fielded we got them all out in 14 overs then we won 100 -80.

Then I went home and got a Friend to stay the night we watch tv then played ps3 the game that we played was modnation racers i won all of the races then we played NBA 2k 12 he won all of the games on it next we went to bed.

Term 4 Week 5

Last week me and my dad went to the V8 supercars he was racing in the sanyong ute's and My uncle Tim edgell was racing in the V8 supercars new zealand.Then my dad raced he was in number 26 his name was mark mallard.Then my uncle Tim Edgell raced he came first Then my dad raced for his qualifing he came 14.

Then my uncle Tim raced for his practise he came 3rd.  Then he raced for his qaulfing

Term 4 week 4

On the weekend i watched the all blacks it was good that we won the world cup because it will make history because we are the only team that has won it two times in a row and we won the cup 3 times the score was 34 - 17 now we only got to get the rookie of the year for scada and dan and  julian savea are getting player of the year.

Term 4 Week 2

On Friday The Year 3's 4's 5's and 6's went to Fantastic Friday there were 12 options one of them were Bollywood dancing i was in Traditional sports I was with 3 of my Friends first we played chain tag this is how you play. You have to have ten or more people so 3 people are your taggers  you get a three second head start then you try not to get tagged and if you do you hold hands and form a chain then wen you want to stop count down from ten.

Probabilty with yahtzee follow-up

My Reflection

I was learning about probability.we had to play the game yahtzee and talk about witch combinations were most likely and least likely.  I had fun playing yahtzee and learning about probability.  It was was tricky to think about what to write at first but then I was able to do it..  My next step is to use probability in a different situation.

Term 4 Week 1

On Thursday me, my mum and her friend and her kids went to the museum we saw the minecraft exhibit  we where in Gallipoli  we were doing world war 2. We went to the memorial bit i saw my name 15 time and 1 other of my freinds name the same time. We had a great time and i would like to go there again.

  i was learning to find information from the text.  I found this easy because we read it last year and I knew all of the words.  My next step is to get into the better reading group next year.

I was learning about 3D shapes.  This was tricky because i did not know some of these shapes  but he first one was the hardest for me.

Term 3 Week 6

Today i came back from America. For a holiday let me tell you about it First i went to Detroit to see my dad's Friend and we did lots of shopping i got a basket ball and a Michigan t-shirt and i got a football.We went to a baseball game we did not win but it was a fun game Detroit Tigers verses Boston Red Sox  and we got to watch some fireworks and they were awesome.  They bring hot dogs to your seat and the hotdogs are better in America, if you order peanuts the guy throws them to you.

The next day we went to cedar point it was way better than rainbows end it had so much fun and scary rides. Rougarou was on of my favorites at the park but there are lots of cool rides

 Then we went to Disney world it  wasn't as good as i expected but there were some fun rides but mostly not as fun as i expected  but it was good service the hotel that we stayed in was  great we had a lounge and everything then the hottest day came and i didn't  want to go out side and i am a person that loves to go out side so we went back to the hotel and cooled of but we didn't go out until 8:00.  They had an awesome fireworks each night

We went to the best arcade in the world it had everything there it even has nascar racing and if you have heard of  joey lagano i was always him and i was in first but then they all got passed and one crashed me so i came last but i kept on doing it and eventual came first.

Then we went on a cruise it was the first one i have ever been on it was so fun the mini golf was good and the service was great.

We went to Haiti and went on a massive zip line over the sea.

In Jamaica went Bobsled, and I went on a cool water slide and then we saw some massive spiders.  Then we climbed the Dunn River falls, the guide said when I grow up I could come back and be a guide it was fun climbing up a water fall

The next stop was Grand Cayman, we swam with the Stingrays.  One touched me and I jumped into my dads arms.  I didn't expect it as it barged through my legs, after the Stingrays we swam with a Dolphin.  The dolphins name was Luna, She splashed Poppa in the face and didn't want to kiss him.  I got to swim on her bellying holding the fins.  She went under the water so you couldn't see her and then she popped up.

In Mexico, I went snorkeling and we saw lots of Fish and one stingray, It stayed on the bottom which was a long way down cause it gets deep quickly.  I liked it staying away, then we went back to the boat and went to Florida and went to the space centre,  I got to ride on a simulator it was like going on a real rocket and it was so bumpy it was like a massage.  I got to see a real space ship Atlantis which now lives at the space centre.

Gardening

Yesterday R 28/29 went gardening behind the field there were helpers their names were Anna,Carl and Paul they all helped us.Paul told us about the five different plants there were the flax,cabbage tree and the toi toi then we all started to dig it was hard to do because there were tree roots and rocks and we had to buddy up i budded up with Josh we planted five or six plants. I had fun.

My Reflection

I was learning to write a speech. My speech is about why rugby league is the best sport. My next step is to be more confident when i am saying it.

Term 2 Week 10

Last week on Thursday the whole school did a martariki rotation i was in group 5 



First my group went with Mrs korua and Mrs robitson they handed out prices for the people that got questions right  and i got one right.Then we did Lthe martariki stars  and i got to finish mine and mine was really weird 



Lastly i went to do the colouring in for i colored mine in light blue 

Addition and Subtraction

My Reflection

I am learning to do rounding and compensating and doing Addition and Subtraction.It was hard because we had to think very very deeply.  We like to use rounding and compensating because it is easier strategy.

Comparing and Contrasting Information

My Reflection
I  have been learning to find information and compare and contrast it. We read an article about sharks.  I found this work easy because we had to compare the sharks so i did they easy parts first.
My next step is to practice comparing and contrasting.

Finding and summarising information in a non-fiction text

We are learning to find and summarise information in a text. I thought that it was hard beacause we had to come up with words that are good about sharks.I thoght it was easy beacause we  had to do they oppisite for the antomyms.

Comparing Characters

My Reflection

I have been learning to compare characters in a story.  We have been reading Who's a Big Bully Then by Michael Morpurgo.  We compared to two main characters in the story.  I found this easy because they were quite different characters and the book helped me.  My next step is to keep practising comparing characters.

This is my pepeha.  I have been learning how to inrtoduce myself in Māori using my pepeha.   I've uploaded my pepeha beacause i thought that it would be nice to share my intrests.

Term 1 Week 8

Last Tuesday we went to youth town we had the best time. When we were doing caching I didn't drop a ball.Then Megatron let us go even ferther away me and kayde toke 20 steps  and then he let us even ferther.Then me and kayde took anther ten steps.  Then we went back to class.

Term 1 Week 7

yesterday we did a 100 word  challenge were we had  to write 100 words or more  I had a really good story. after that the bell rang for morning tea.

Place value

I was learning to read numbers up to 100 and to say which is bigger or smaller.

The thing that helped me most was:
- using my basic facts to help with bigger numbers
- remembering to look at the left to see if the digits are bigger
- practising on Mathletics

My next step is to read numbers up to 1000

African Praise Poem

My Reflection

I have been learning to write an African Praise Poem.  I found this work tricky because there aren't animals that describe me.  My next step is to be better at writing.

Term 1 Week 6

Last Tuesday we went to youth town. We played a caching me and Kayde  were partners.  We won and then we learnt a new game it was to help us with  our  spacing. I was in they non bibs team i think we  won but it was the second best game that I have played.

Term 1 Week 5

2 weeks ago we room went   28 we went   to te tuhi  for a school trip  so we could learn more about tapa cloth. We made one ourself it was fun  we made something  I think  it was a tapa cloth.

Term 1 Week 4

Last week we went to youth town we played capture the flag.It was awesome.  The non bibs won. We won all the games.

My 2015 welcome post

Welcome to my year 4 learning blog. This year I am in Room 28/29  and my teachers are Mrs. Melville and Mrs. Graham. I enjoy playing Mathletics. I am looking forward to the class sleepover. I hope you will enjoy reading my blog and leave lots of feedback.
